Installation, maintenance & FAQ

Installation

In order to obtain the best possible result, Mercier Wood Flooring suggests that you have your wood floor installed by your Mercier authorized retailer or a professional certified installer. To ensure that your hardwood floor is installed properly, please READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

1– MAKE SURE JOBSITE CONDITIONS ARE ADEQUATE

Even before receiving the material determine that the job site conditions are ideal (for exact measures, refer to the installation guide) and maintain these conditions at all times during and after installation.

2– SUBFLOOR PREPARATION

Check the sub-floor moisture level: it must be dry and the basement well ventilated. If the moisture level is too high, postpone floor installation; speed up drying with extra heating and ventilation devices and conduct a new test a few weeks later.

3– MATERIAL INSPECTION

Installer responsibility also includes final inspection of sub-floor (must be suitable for wood flooring installation) and of hardwood flooring prior to installation.
