The grain of white oak (Quercus alba) resembles that of red oak. Growth rings are also quite visible. Colors range from light creamy brown to grayish brown. White oak changes color moderately over time, becoming slightly amber tinged. This wood has a hardness rating of 1 360 in the Janka test.
