American Cherry (Prunus serotina) is straightgrained and even textured. Colors range from creamy white to pinkish brown and sometimes deep red. Boards are characterized by markedly contrasting colors. This wood has a hardness rating of 950 in the Janka test.
NOTE: As the wood matures, it darkens noticeably to a rich reddish brown.
