Brazilian Cherry (Hymenaea courbaril) is a very hard species with a dense texture and reticulated grain. Before maturation, the rich tones of this wood range from yellowish brown to salmon red to deep red with black streaks. This wood has a hardness rating of 2 350 in the Janka test.
NOTE:This species changes colors noticeably, rapidly darkening to a much sought-after deep reddish brown.
PREMIUM - An opulent appearance and contrasting shades are the hallmark of the range of natural tones of this species. Contrasting shades among boards are pronounced.
