Santos Mahogany (Myroxylon balsamum) is a medium-textured wood with a characteristic reticulated grain. Before maturation, the shades of this wood range from brownish orange with yellow undertones to a deep reddish brown.This wood has a hardness rating of 2 200 in the Janka test.
NOTE : Color changes in this species are moderate, culminating in rich, orange-tinged dark brown tones.
