Hickory (Carrya spp.) is characterized by a textured grain and clearly visible growth rings. This wood comes in a many shades ranging from golden beige to full-bodied brown. This wood has a hardness rating of 1 820 in the Janka test. Knots are also prevalent, adding to its natural look.
NOTE: Hickory changes colors lightly over time, becoming tinged with gold.
