(Castanea dentate) noted for its distinctive markings with pin holes and fire scars that are created by the Ambrosia beetle has its origin high in the mountains of Australia. This specie is characterized by highly textured grain and clearly visible growth rings, this rustic, natural looking specie has color tones ranging from beige to medium brown. Wormy Chestnut has a Janka hardness rating of 1810. Wormy Chestnut changes color moderately over time, becoming a rusty and sometimes reddish brown.
