Clear smooth finish
Mercier GENERATIONS has the clearest look in the industry. The finish has a soft clear smooth surface, letting all the beauty of the wood shine-through, making the piece of wood look more like furniture than like flooring. Its does not add any texture to the wood, where other industrial finishes can leave a perception of sand-mixed looking varnish.

In store, you will be able to test the finish's resistance to to scratches and loss of gloss by repeated abrasion with a steel wool pad. Mercier GENERATIONS is rated #1 for resisting scuffs and traffic patterns.
35 years residential warranty
The warranty offered by Mercier is a lifetime warranty on the structure.
The finish is warrantied 35 years for residential applications and 5 years for light commercial purposes: the best protection against normal surface wear and tear.

Antimicrobial treatment
The anti-microbial treatment applied in Mercier GENERATIONS finish helps maintain excellent hygiene conditions, reducing the risk of microbe (and mildew) growth on the finish surface. Non toxic, this treatment adds level of protection for healthy, hygenic floors.
Non-yellowing screen coating
- The non yellowing treatment is composed of 2 different UV screens and protects the original colour of the floor from the various light sources that could alter it:
- UV screen against Finish Yellowing : The finish will not turn yellow but it does not prevent the wood from turning yellow;
- UV screen against Wood Yellowing : The finish has a screen that will delay the yellowing of the wood beneath it, and reduce the intensity of the yellowing when it does occur.
